Yesterday evening I was cycling home on my foldable bike, at full speed, when suddenly my bike literally broke in half! My arm is now in a sling, knees scraped, elbow black and blue and my back isn't happy either. When Peter brought my bike to the bikeshop for repairs, the owner was so shocked that I now own a completely new and updated version of my old bike, the old broken bike being on its way to the manufacturer with an angry phone call by the owner. Though I'm sore all over, I'm glad this is All it is. I could have been hurt a lot worse.

Oh my goodness, Marit, that is shocking. I'm glad you weren't more seriously or permanently injured.

I hope you recover from your wounds and bruises soon - and the shock.

I'll be fine. My arm was banged up the worst and is now quite stiff and a bit powerless, but otherwise not hurting if I'm careful. It's a bit annoying that I can't really carry our girl at the moment. Now Peter has to do all the lifting and soothing. I could hold her on my other arm but she keeps squirming around and I don't trust my left arm enough to fully support her if she really makes a sudden lurch. Which she is wont to do since she currently sees us as her personal monkeybars. *rolls eyes*

Oh my goodness! That’s quite something! Please Get better. Never heard of that happening before but I guess anything can happen.

I'm glad you're relatively OK Mari - definitely not something you'd expect to happen!
Hope you can hold the wiggly one again soon.

I recovered well from that incident, but 2 weeks later I slipped on an icy road with my new bike and fell again. Fortunately I fell on my other knee so now I have 2 interestingly coloured knees and elbows. It's a talent

We say knocked up here, rather than banged up.
Sorry about your new injury!

There's a song here called, Knees Up Mother Brown, which you could possibly contribute to.

If you don't mind, I'd rather stop contributing. Two times in as many weeks is enough to last me quite a while methinks.
