Harry and Meghan's decision to effectively leave the Royal Family? I dunno if that has been as big a story there as it has here but it really has been huge here. Personally I am not a fan of royalty but I can understand why they want out. As long as they are gonna support themselves then good luck to them.
I heard a bird cry, sharp and free. My name is Jordan.
I agree. Too many royals, so two of them wanting to quit voluntarily is great. They should get nothing from UK taxpayers: no security, no free flights, and no money or tax incentives. Also they should lose their royal titles. They're plenty rich enough to support themselves - Meghan can return to acting if they need extra cash.
The BBC's Royal Correspondent, Nicholas Witchel, says there would be significant problems going it alone because of their fame and conflict of interest. Prince Edward and his wife Sophie tried to do that, I believe, and didn't succeed.
I'm wondering what the major factor was in making their decision. The Daily Mail trashing Meghan, the veiled racism or the Royal Family not really accepting her.
Hey....I don't blame them. I've told several folks that I think I was born 400 miles too far south. I'm a misplaced Canuck. BC is gorgeous.
I think Harry should get involved with Viking, the aircraft folks in Sydney, just north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, and broker the new CL-515 water bomber for them on both hemispheres. That would put him and his new little family in some damned pretty country on Vancouver Island, and just a hop skip and jump from Seattle. It's a short flight to anywhere on the west coast and Hawaii.
