Julie - we have maintenance people coming to the house on Monday. I am sure they will be careful but it still worries me ... they will be going all over the county and who knows that they might pick up? They are probably not happy with it either.

Do you think they might pick up a cat? Remember to count them all before and afterwards.

Oh, yeah....You guys got it as bad as we do. This just out. I donāt even go to to places like this before the virus. I went to Vegas once in my life last year and toooooo many people for me. That doesnāt even look fun to me stuck on a beach where you can only see people and no beach. I went to the lake this last weekend. It was not crowded otherwise I would not have went. Plus it was far a away from any major town. We had a 30 foot section of beach to ourselves.

Woo-hoo.....Americans banned in the EU as 'too risky'. I guess we'll just have to take our Covid to Britain.
Hey....I hear that Disneyworld will open for bidness July 11, so all you Brits will have that option available to you. All you have to do is to fly in to the center of the storm and bail out. E Ticket fun! I wonder if they'll discount the tickets?

I donāt like planes. So ban it or un ban it. I donāt care. Iām not going to anywhere that involves flying over an ocean much less a boat in the ocean.

One less pestiferous American to worry about. If you don't travel overseas, just what is your interest in the 'Europeforum'? Why do you care about Europe? Or, Europeans, as distinct from any other global citizen?

Uhhhh....Nothing. Nothing at all. We here at Europeforum have no idea why you are here. But that's neither here nor there.
Washington? The city, or the state?

Goat, what do you mean by "We here at Europeforum..." You should probably just speak for yourself. I know why KE is here.

Well...okay. I certainly don't know why he's here at Europeforum. He has stated that he has no interest in Europe and will not ever travel to it, so I'm at something of a loss as to why it is he wandered in to, and has stayed around, a discussion board where the putative topic is Europe and Europeans. I was puzzled.
He won't answer it. Will you, since you seem to know?

As I said before, he was part of the original Wardrobe gang and migrated over. Just as I and many others have. This was always a collection of friends rather than a place to discuss Europe.

Europe was Finland, or Finland was Europe?
Well, I'll be gobsmacked....Europe has nothing to do with anything here? Is that right, JoeP? Squat? It might as well be Urp Form? Makes no difference?
And, here I thought is was all about things like learning the peculiarities of Celsius and knowing what the hell the Shengen is. Obscure and arcane secrets, y'know? Foolish me.

It's a group of friends. Most of us were initially from Europe and indeed Finland. There is no law that says non Europeans cannot be here.

I have no interest in flying over an ocean WG. I would love to visit but planes and water donāt mix in my psyche. I really donāt know what your fuss is but really.
Oh and to answer your question. State of Washington.
Oh and to answer your question of āWe here at the Europe Forumsā statement, am solely her because I love my friends here and always have. Unconditionally! Always!

In UK you have to wear masks when you travel by bus or underground. So my daughter did. Hard to breathe and moist, she said. No, you could never wear one, she said to me, you would panic.
I never see anyone in Sweden wearing masks unless they are hospital employees, then they have both masks and visors.
In Asia people have often had masks against pollution. But here in Sweden people are afraid of standing out and looking foolish.
No lockdown in Sweden, they say it would be against our constitution. So the government trusts people's good judgement, that they will follow recommendations. Result: More dead in Sweden than in Finland, Norway and Denmark together. People from Sweden not welcome to the other Nordic countries. People travelling from Arlanda not welcome to Greece. Worse, tourists are dissuaded from travelling to Sweden. Unemployment figures on the rise.
No vaccine until next year. We have not seen our daughter since Christmas. I expect we will not see her next Christmas.

Frankly, thanks to my government, I am no longer European either. I have to mark words, you are still European, just like people of Norway, Iceland and Switzerland. Before Sweden became a member of EU, I was very irritated when seeing "Europeans" and "Non-Europeans" at airports. How could they name me a "Non-European", Sweden was as always an European country. But maybe the present government of UK does not feel like a part of Europe? I am a member of Europeforum by mistake. I searched for an European forum but I do not know anyone here personally.

According to Wikipedia, "Europe is commonly considered to be separated from Asia by the watershed of the Ural Mountains, the Ural River, the Caspian Sea, the Greater Caucasus, the Black Sea, and the waterways of the Turkish Straits." Iceland, Svalbard, parts of Russia and Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova are all considered to be part of Europe but Cyprus is not.

That is a geographic description, yes. Of course Cyprus is not...it is in the Mediterranean south of the Anatolian peninsula, in Asia, far from the European continent. And, an exacting description would note than only PART of Iceland is 'in Europe', while the other portion is 'in North America', along with Greenland. Iceland straddles the mid-oceanic rift. Why anybody would express any wonder that Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova are in Europe is quite puzzling. I can understand Azerbaijan, as it sits on the southern boundary of the Caucasus Mountains, but the UBM trio is a healthy thousand miles west of the continent's eastern border along the Ural Mountains, well within the European continent and much nearer the 'heart' of Europe than even the marginal British Isles. I think if we were fastidious about the Urals being the eastern boundary with the Asian continent, then a chunk of Kazakhstan is 'part of Europe' as it is well west of the southern stretch of the mountain range. So...Is Malta part of Europe, or Africa?
