1. I don't have to wear deodorant! 2. I don't have to worry about people coming in and silently criticizing my house cleaning. 3. Grocery shopping is an even that I plan for and look forward to. 4. The highway in my backyard is much quieter.

All valid points I welcome not having random sales people ("we are doing a promotion in your area") ring the doorbell unannounced.

I still wear deodorant and make-up. And I would even if I was on my own. But nobody in supermarkets comes too close to me in the queue anymore.

Not wearing a bra and make-up most of the time, except when I need to Skype students. Even then I often look ‘normal’ on top but I’ll be wearing pyjama bottoms. (For those Brits old enough to remember, I feel like Angela Rippon reading the news on Morecombe and Wise! 😂)
Not that the students would care - they Skype me in their onesies and pyjamas too!

I'm not wearing makeup or a bra either. Surprising as it may seem.

Seeing my girl regularly, having to work less, being able to enjoy the weather, having time to spend with my husband that is not hurried exhausted or household related. Playing online games with friends. Sending and receiving more postcards.

Ok, I'm curious, why the not wearing bras, make-up or deodorant? I'm beginning to feel a little odd because I have a shower every morning and then wear clothes and make-up prett much as I would if I had to go somewhere. I'd feel completely miserable if I didn't do that. Frank is the same - not with make-up and bras, obviously, but always walking around in respectable outfits and getting ready every morning. But then we are generally not the coming home, taking off jeans and bra and walkig around in your underpants type. The only time I basically lived in sweatpants and old t-shirts was when our boy was really small and puking all over us and himself several times a day and then I'd only put on decent clothes just before leaving the house. And taking long walks in this weather is nice. We went on a bike ride with our little one yesterday.

I never wear makeup so that's not an issue, but I do get dressed everyday, including putting on a bra. Honestly, I find it pretty uncomfortable without one. As for deodorant, I always find it a bit unnatural and chemical. Plus I don't find my own odour that unpleasant.

I've been enjoying -being able to work in pajamas/comfy clothes, and not being committed to one outfit for the day, since I'm not leaving home - not having to plan my lunches and bring them with me to work - going on walks around my neighborhood, which I never did much before - playing music/podcasts without having to wear headphones - not wearing shoes - instant commute :-)

Aside...Re: Deodorant.
I quit wearing deodorant more than twenty years ago, thanks to a skin problem which primarily afflicted my axillae (armpits). It actually became painful to apply deodorant. My dermatologist informed me that deodorants were entirely unnecessary if I used an antibacterial soap on the afflicted area to cleanse each and every day. He recommended Hibiclens (chlorhexidine gluconate solution 4%). He noted that it is the bacteria which create the odor, not the body and eliminating those bacteria on the daily basis will make deodorants unnecessary. Antiperspirants are a crime against nature....

Although it’s been liberating not having to get dressed properly (at least mostly) I have started to miss my clothes. I’ve spent three weeks in comfy sweaters, jeans, paint covered joggers or pyjamas. But I actually liked wearing dresses and stuff for work. I’m now starting to look at my wardrobe rather wistfully and wondering when I’ll next get to wear some of that stuff again... 😕

I am happy that I don't have to worry about someone knocking on the door. I hate unexpected visitors.

Yes, juju, I know.
Sometimes I wistfully look down at my feet and think..."Someday I will again wear some sox. Someday. Maybe."

Juju, why don't you just wear the clothes you feel like wearing, even if you don't have to go anywhere?

Juju, why don't you just wear the clothes you feel like wearing, even if you don't have to go anywhere? Yesterday I did - I was video linking students so I decided to wear a dress again (albeit a very casual one). The reason I haven’t been is because when I’m not talking to students I’m either doing jobs around the house, gardening, cooking, walking the dog or intending to paint. (Last night I even did start a painting 😊) All those things I would usually do in my ‘weekend’ clothes. Now we’re on a permanent weekend...

There really isn’t much that I don’t like on this. I’m the most outgoing fun talkative type but for some reason I’m loving being away from people. Not missed the world at all. I guess I’m a Chameleon personality. I grow where ever I’m planted. Or something.

I'm not sure having a chameleon personality is usually regarded as a good thing...
