My brother and sister in law just kindly sent me this as they thought I'd enjoy it - anyone read? It looks promising.

This is genuinely fantastic - I am only fifty pages in but I highly recommend.

The one-star reviews on Amazon are very entertaining. One guy gives the whole plot in one paragraph and says, "there, saved you three months." Another says it's useful for reaching tall shelves.

Yeah well, I do not want the plot given away so please no-one do. Not my fault if morons do not like it

Also, I will have finished it within a week. If someone takes three months to finish a book, even a long one, then I am not impressed.

At 1000 pages of small typeface, it would take be longer than three months. I have a slow reading speed and usually get bored after a few pages.

Naw I took a break. Basically it's set in the twelfth century and is about a stone mason and his family. And a woman, but I am not quite sure how she comes into it yet.
