... for the latest episode of Dr. Who? I have a lot to say on the subject, but I'm running out of batteries, so suffice it to say I really like Clara so far, but felt the episode was terrible and Moffat-ish in so many ways. >_< I'll say more later.

I was disappointed because the main plot wasn't strong. There were too many irrelevant side stories like the monastery scene and these weakened the main story line. But I'd like to know what you mean by Moffat-ish.

The big guy on the screen was just a big repeat of that seriously annoying lady with the eye patch in every episode in the last season. We have no idea who the dude is or what he wants and of course it'll come down to some big bad, weird showdown at the end of the season. Wanna bet this we'll see him more often (briefly) in the following episodes?
Re: story, I thought the Wifi idea was a very good one, but indeed, why did the people who got stuck also got stuck saying 'I don't know where I am", though some people managed to apparently say something before they got stuck in that loop. Also, how could the bad woman (forgot her name) increase someone's intellect on her tablet? Or lower his conscience? What did they want anyway?
But as I said, I do like Clara and I loved that they had her and her charge read Amy's book. Will there be another episode tonight?

The guy at the end (Richard E. Grant) was The Great Intelligence from The Snowmen (Christmas episode). Seems like he is difficult to kill, as he doesn't really have a body of his own.
I rather liked the plot. Sure, there were unnecessary inconsistencies in how people in the cloud behaved and understood what was going on, but I'll give them that.
The next episode should, indeed, come today.

I just saw that episode. It was a very nice one because I love dramatic singing with choruses and stuff. The story had some gaps in it again though. *sigh* I still like Dr. Who, I just don't love it as I loved most episodes of the earlier 2005 series and it's mostly because the stories don't enchant me enough and thus leave me room to question the weird things.

Russell T Davies was the writer of the 2005 series and he captivated our imagination brilliantly.
Steven Moffat succeeded Russell T Davies as head writer and he also wrote last week's episode, The Bells of St John. To his credit he wrote Blink, which is arguably the best episode ever.
This week's episode, The Rings of Akhaten, was written by Neil Cross and it was a very different type of story. I thought it hung together better than last week's episode and had a stronger ending.

I didn't like this last one much. The first half has quite boring and the second struck me as attempting to inspire us without enough or compelling enough build-up to justify the grandiosity. All aliens and effects, not enough substance.

I've not been at all impressed so far. I don't mind Clara - though I hate the fact that the Doctor seems to have a new female interest every series and forgets about the last one, bar the odd sentimental moment - but I thought that the plot was weak. I recognised the name Great Intelligence but it took me a while to remember that it was from the snowman episode.
I loved the music in last night's but again, the plot was weak.

I know! Who could dislike River, for heaven's sake? *glares at Moonraker, but not too harshly, since he's new*

Two time-travellers on completely different trajectories in a relationship? Not exactly the best recipe for stability and dependability.

Amy Pond's perhaps? Melody? Sorry, I got that wrong. River Song is Amy Pond's daughter, otherwise known as Melody Pond (melody = song, river = pond, hence Melody Pond = River Song).

felt today's ep was okay, but with waters of mars in the back if my head I felt a bit weird about the warrior having a body of his own

In answer to Miisa, Emilia Jones. Best bit of this episode. Aled Jones's daughter, and that makes me feel old.

if everyone else has their things and memories disappearing, how come the Doctor who was sucked dry wasn't a blabbering memory-less idiot? They vaguely explained this by him having 1000 years of memories so it would have taken a lot longer ....

In the latest episode, did anyone get a xenoerotic vibe from the way the ice warrior's clawed hands caressed the heads of first Onegin (or whatever his name was) and then the professor?
Especially considering, as I only just have, that the ice warrior had just effectively taken all his clothes off.
