Yesterday evening, I was searching for something vegetable to eat for supper and I decided to steam some broccoli. Bad move! Two hours later I was doubled up in pain with stomach cramps which were intense for about three hours and are still with me (although much diminished) over 12 hours later.
I know I have a hard time digesting broccoli (and cauliflower too actually), but it's sometimes not too bad, and I like the taste. Sigh. I'm already so limited in what I can eat, it's hard to scratch yet another item off the list. Grr!

Yeah... my 35 year old daughter has the same issue, so it can't just be my age.

Seiously!? That sucks so much! It's pretty much the only vegetable I can get my husband to eat with joy, so we eat it almost once a week. Are you feeling okay now?

Still some lingering pain, but I was able to eat breakfast and lunch. I kept away from vegetables though, which agree with me less and less.

Yeah it's nice to have a choice! So far, between not being able to eat the carb-y ones or the ones that hurt my tummy, I can eat: celery, cucumber, radishes, eggplant, zucchini and lettuce --and asparagus and bok choy, neither of which I like. Not very varied.

Sorry to hear about that, Kye. We don't have broccoli very often, but I prefer other vegetables: cucumber, peppers, carrots, tomatoes.

What about peas and beans? I like broccoli, and it likes me, but a goodly proportion of my veg intake is peas. Because they're so easy - and still quite tasty.

I love peas but I have to make myself have other vegetables occasionally otherwise I will grow tired of them.

I can't do peas. Or beans. Or carrots. Or corn.

I like lots of different veggies, but my husband pretty much eats only broccoli, beans drowned in sate sauce, cauliflower and cabbage drowned in sate sauce. Anything else he won't eat or just eat it disapprovingly. I have to plan pizza days so I can eat the veggies I want. Unfortunately I can't get girl to eat something healthy when her dad is eating pizza.

... beans drowned in sate sauce... That is one sauce I will never eat.

No, I just can't abide the smell (or presumably the taste because the sauce won't ever come close to my lips).
