We've had a big storm here .. lots of lightning, torrential rain. Poor Honey was terrified and would not even eat the meat I put out for her to try and calm her down. Seems to have quieted down quite a lot now but there are still some flashes.

Hmph it stopped for a while and now it's started again. Seems like the whole of the North is getting it - probably due to the heat.

Could you send one our way?
Not for the animals mind you. Dusty (13 year old cat) hates them but will quietly go to the most enclosed / sheltered place and wait it out.

We had a teacupful of rain last night but the garden has already dried out.

We have had distant thunderstorms for the past hour and a little rain but not all that much.

We're supposed to get hit today or tomorrow. I hope it will be less muggy afterwards.

We have had only one thunderstorm all summer a while ago - and then lightning struck a nearby chimney again. Wouldn't mind one now, actually.

Still no thunderstorm here. I have just been on a couple of work calls with colleagues in different parts of England, and they've had thunderstorms - one had quite loud peals of thunder during the call - although not as loud as the planes flying over another colleagues flat under the Heathrow flight path.

Lots of sunshine here. But last night we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Got some repellent, otherwise by tonight, nothing would be left of our little guy.

Aw shame, is that antihistamine cream?

Antihistamine is for soothing the itches afterwards, isn't it?
Insect repellent would be ... something different.

Too hot here again. I should not complain cos I'll probably be complaining it is too cold before long

You would not be English if you didn't complain about the weather

It's called "Anti Brumm". My legs look awful. Clusters of moskito bites.
