A new series on HBO Max. Sci-fi. Starting the species over on a new planet, Kepler 22b, with androids as parent figures for a batch of human embryos.

Could be interesting. I wonder which way they're going to go with the story.

The title suggests subhuman parents but if they are androids, they are more likely to be highly superior. I often think suitably programmed androids would make better parents than humans

Yes, you would think so, wouldn't you?
There is a subplot that they are not the only human colonists, just the first. The later ones arrive on an 'ark', which those aboard call 'Heaven'.
And therein lies the drama. Do androids dream?
I won't spoil it, but it does make an interesting view. I'm now at episode 7 of season 1 and understand they have contracted for at least another season. That could fall apart, as such things do, but there will be three more episodes in this season.

The later ones arrive on an 'ark', which those aboard call 'Heaven'. I rather think the Biblical ark would have been more like hell than heaven.

Oh. It is. Well. I alway tend to wait a couple seasons before investing time into something that doesn’t have an ending to it.
