Our state and surrounding states are having an early winter. Leaves have turned for Fall and have not even fallen off. We have an inch of ice so far, but a ton more is expected. We lost power yesterday and then got it back last night. The second ice storm has just arrived and my lights are flickering again. I figure this time I’ll have to turn the generator on because it will be off for several days after that. My trees are falling down piece be piece. All night long it sounded like chandeliers crashing on marble floors. The third ice storm is expected tonight.

I've never witnessed an ice storm. It beats our weather.

There was a huge ice storm in Quebec in January of 1998. People are still talking bout it...

We have them every ten years. Some of us have generators because that is expected to happen often. All of my trees have split into pieces and will have to be removed. We have not have normal power in two days. Inches of ice with 300,000 households with no power. -1°C to 1°C on average. The fourth storm is coming this evening and people farther north are getting ready to get hit hard.
This isn’t as bad as the one we had in 2002 with 6 inches of ice. But it’s up there. I’d rather have snow because if there is a problem emergency vehicles can drive on this.

Yikes! We just had snow in MN (turned my fall camping trip into a winter camping trip - thankfully it was a cabin, not a tent!) and some rain here in WI. I don't think I've ever seen a full-fledged ice storm. It sounds really scary. I'm sorry about your trees. :-(
