Is there a way of choosing a time zone? The forum clock appears to be five hours slow to me.
What about other preferences like colours, avatars and such?
* ceptimus is too stupid to find the options by himself

Go to "profile" at the top of the page and there to modify profile, it should give you the time options, and you can also chose from different skins there, + avatar options.

It took me some time to find the right setting. Apparently it uses American DST, which is different from the European one?

Daylight savings times are all over the place, depending on where you are in the world.

I didn't even care about that - until I found it was mentioned here.

I have known people have to deal with other countries where the changes in times have caused all sorts of communication problems because they both adjust their clocks on different dates, causing the time difference to change by a couple of hours, but not in one go. No-one ever knew what time it was at the other office!

Yes, but be careful not to hit the "Delete Account" button at the bottom of the page. It's positioned right about where you'd expect the "Save settings" button would be.

Oh yay! New skins! Who do I have to thank for these? So much easier on the eyes!
I'm trying to decide between 'Darkly Brooding' and 'Nightly News'. Giving the latter a try first.

I made some skins in a manic frenzy. Still considering making the purple background/beige text one mentioned somewhere...

If only the skins had a preview window or something like that...

No, and that was a really annoying thing when making them as well. I had to make a whole skin blind, change to that skin in my profile and then go back to the admin panel and open up that skin's settings to tweak it, save the skin, refresh a page to see what happened and then go back to the beginning and "modify skins" to tweak it some more. Somewhat frustrating.

If someone gives me access I might be able to fabricate an easier way of doing it.

You could always create your own 'test board' at freeforums and use that to experiment with different skins and other settings. That way, if you accidentally blow things up, no real harm done!

Miisa, that's why I couldn't be bothered skinning. I made one and it was awful, but I had no way of seeing what I was doing.
Someone who knows their way round the admin panel give Col acces?

Should there now be a significant posts thread? Like in The Old Country?

I think I was creeping up on a few people very slowly on the old one, but never destined for the top slot, which is an impossibility as long as Moose has at least one digit able to type.

For a while, Mari had the top spot by a handful of posts and at the moment, la Moose is only in the lead by five posts.

I like my position in the time continuum of EF posters...at the very end of the day. Of course, by midday here, most of you are edging towards sleep. You're 8 hours ahead of me. I'm living in the past, for you folks.
We are now on 'Standard Time' here. It's known to some as 'God's Time'; particularly milk cows, from what I understand. Me? I'm not a cow. Nor, am I a big fan of 'Daylight Savings Time' and the whole rigamarole of jumping the time backwards and forwards twice a year. It puts my personal circadian rhythms all awack and leaves me cranky (or 'crankier' for those who insist I'm cranky all the time) for the adjustment period (usually a week, plus). I think that we should all agree that the whole thing is a waste and agree to select one point in time, say, the next time we are scheduled to move the clocks, and we all move our clocks in the designated direction just one half hour and leave it that way forevermore. No more moving the clocks back and forth, as we'd just split the difference and settle it for good.
