Quebec is in another lockdown for at least 3 weeks. Stores closed on Sundays, curfew from 10 pm until 5 am, no visiting other bubbles, church buildings closed, restaurants closed. It's a total sh*t show We all feel so defeated and, personally, it's so hard to work up sufficient energy to be pastoral in this situation.

Lovely I'm sure you will rise to the pastoral challenge though!

I doubt we will ever do lockdown again here. This part of the country moved on from the pandemic at end of 2020 and never gave it another thought. So I lock myself down when things look like it may get bad.

I'm lucky I'm single --we're allowed to visit another bubble. Hence, I'm going to my daughter's place for New Year's Eve. I'll be staying overnight though since there's a curfew in effect.

Lol. I still go out. Just not to large crowds of people I don’t trust. I eat out if the restaurant has fewer people. I figured out times people go to places I like and avoid the rush.
Not denial really. Most don’t care anymore.

Here, it's really a matter of not having enough space in hospitals for when people really get sick. We have to limit the number of people getting infected because inevitably some of them end up in the ICUs and we just don't have enough beds.

We have enough space in hospital in the UK but we don't have enough staff. Yesterday, we learnt that 40% of nursing staff was off sick or self-isolating because of Covid. But they are invisible to the Tory leaders who are building several new temporary hospitals (Nightingale units) to accommodate Covid patients who are recovering.

Yes, our Premier in his infinite wisdom ( ) has decided that while the rest of us isolate and remain in quarantine, the healthcare workers can go to work if they're positive for Covid. But it's okay because they'll be wearing masks! The system is broken and he just won't admit it.

So do the masks protect the healthcare workers from the patients' Covid germs or do the masks protect the Covid patients from the healthcare workers' germs?

Supposedly the masks will protect the non-Covid infected patients...

Hm, unlikely if the nurses have beards The nurses can shave their beards. Haven't you heard of the Sikh nurses who did just that even though they're culturally not supposed to? I'm pretty sure that was in Canada.

Brett, the fact that 'most just don't care any more' is what is killing people. When it's you or yours dying on a respirator, remember that you said that.

Brett, the fact that 'most just don't care any more' is what is killing people. When it's you or yours dying on a respirator, remember that you said that. Don’t I know it! I’ve known it since before it was a thing. When my friend in the CDC called and told me it would be coming to the US and to lock it down because she knows my health. It pissed me off when recently when I was selling my house, now keep in mind I have worked from home most of my life. The inspector, their buyers realtor and then the buyers showed up on my doorstep. Before I’d allow the inspectors in I told them to wear a mask. One inspector said he was vaccinated and tested yesterday - okay I’ll take that at face value and you stay away from me while your checking out my house. The other inspector told me he doesn’t wear masks and if I expected to sell my house I’m coming in. We had words needless to say. He also told me that I look like I’m in good shape and look to be in my 20’s so hold that thought. The realtor rang the door bell. Told her the same thing. She said she doesn’t believe in vaccination, but she will respect my wishes and stay in the breakfast room. Told me that I looked to be in my 20’s. Told her and the inspector both this. I may look 25. But I assure you I’m in my 40’s as I occasionally do things to keep my youth. 2nd, ever since kindergarten, I’ve had severe lung issues. They are weak and I’ve lost approximately 10 percent of my lungs from years of scaring. I missed months of school growing up as a kid through teenage years due to this and been in the hospital more than once. Then the doorbell rang again. It was the buyers from Chicago. By this point I was over this hell and went to my study to work and called some clients. Told the realtor to please explain to them not to come into my study if they must look around. I’m shutting my doors. To add insult to injury! I have gotten sick as of yesterday with 103 degree fever. I’ve been careful. Face masks. Face shields if I do need to go out to get food. (((People look at me like im Crazy))). Grocery store pretty much is it for me, and drive through pick up on restaurants unless there are like very very few people (which is rare) and even then I use masks, cleaning stuff, and shields. I even Hired a manager to do the stuff I won’t do in public for the building of my new home. I don’t know at this point if it’s COVID but Im sure it’s the normal stuff I get and feels different. I know since I’ve been sick with bronchial infections, pneumonia, asthma, and inflammation from August to November of 2021. This is the most I’ve said in this forum probably. But for the record dear-heart and to others, I’m well aware of this and if you think I don’t know it , well now your informed about my standing on this. I think I mentioned in previous post how much I trust no one. My opinion on this has not changed since day one.

When I meant, “not denial, people don’t care”. That was my way of saying politely that people are idiots…. For the obvious reason.

Well I hope not. It’s seems like the same issue I’ve always had but also does not. But with omicron being sneakier I don’t know how I can be more careful. I order everything online so Walmart and department stores are out and have been since 2020. It’s just food I have to go out for.
Doing to doctor this afternoon.
Thank you.

Good news. No covid. But not sure it’s good news because this is just as bad. Bacteria is in there again and inflammation has started again with a vengeance. Just peachy. Sick again for a month.

I just found out that CDC stupidly changed the quarantine rules. Employers, hospitals, and colleges , etc are telling people that if you feel fine you should come to work anyway. Have I bumped my head?

Our lockdown has been released pretty much completely, overnight. Reason being we had the strictest lockdown and still the highest number of infections in Europe.
