Kevin and I just booked a week-long vacation (belated honeymoon) in Chicago for late July.
Has anyone been there? Recommendations or suggestions for what to see and do (or what to avoid!) are welcome. :-)

The last time I was there, I was six. I have come to like their jazz stylings.

The one thing I might do if I was in Chicago would be to take in a live show at Second City comedy troupe, if there is such a thing. Other than that, I associate Chicago with the U-505 U-boat in the museum there and the fact that the city used to be, and still might be, the meat-packing capital of Amurika. Luckily, I am a poor resource and admit it, so there might yet be hope for you.

Rillyrilly big puddle. Yuge.
I've also heard people say it blows.

Kevin's hometown is also on the shores of the same puddle, though farther north. It's a pretty lake, at least up there.
The apartment we've rented for the week is only about a quarter of a mile from the lake, so that should be nice. It's also quite close to one of the museums we're planning on visiting, which is situated in a large park. It should be a pleasant place to stay, and far enough from downtown that parking shouldn't be a problem. We'll get around mostly by public transport, I think. It'll make me feel like I'm in Europe. Public transit is so spotty here in the states, which is sad.
