Does anyone (without looking it up) know what this word could mean? konzert

Yes, it's German for concert.

Without looking it up? A pupil had used that instead of the English word.

I knew straight away what it was because it is pronounced almost the same way but I looked it up to make sure.

I assumed it meant concert but could not have sworn to it.

I was pretty sure it was concert - and I've probably seen the word multiple times on my dad's Deutschegramaphon (not sure of that spelling!) CDs.

Ah yes, I've seen it in connection with music pieces too.

I assumed it meant concert but could not have sworn to it. Same here. I was also thinking it seemed German since that mostly my background.

I'm pretty sure it's concert as in the musical performance, but not concert as in "moving in concert".

By the way in Dutch it's also concert, but it's pronounced more like the German konzert.
