ooohh, well my sympathies. I can't stand poorly climate-controlled offices. They do tend to make the day seem interminable.

What could help is bringing a moisturiser. I bought one for my house because it was less than 20% humidity in here and it really helped, especially with my nose. I got one for 30 euros which I can bring with me very easily and the watertank is a simple pet bottle.

hahaha, I doubt that would work. At my place they acknowledge that the system is broken, but fixing it is too expensive. So now we have an incredibly high rate of sick days amongst students and teachers and at least once a day someone faints from the heat. Twice now we had to call an ambulance.

I had a long conversation with the facilities people (whose first languages are not English; this is London after all). It's something to do with centralised heating and distributed airconditioning. The way the building is set up, if there's to be any heating at all, then it's heating only for the entire building. And we have certainly needed some heating in the mornings at least over the past few months. Of course, by midday the heating from 6 heaters, 80 bodies and 80 computers has thoroughly warmed the place up.

I can't stop people playing with the radiator thermostats in our office. Now it has started getting warmer outside, it is starting to get warmer inside and pretty uncomfortable. Today, the fan in the computer room kicked in to start cooling it down in there, even though the radiators in other parts of the office still keep getting turned up so far as to still be giving out heat!

Your facilities management people trust you more than ours do. Our theromstats are all locked!

No, they are just normal thermostats that were there when we moved into the office. Locking them would take someone to actually do something. If it was me in charge I'd have set them ages ago and stopped anyone touching them.

Moreover, they messed up the conversion to Yuku and Yuku itself is pretty pathetic as a forum base. Yeah, you could say that, but I think this: (apparently, it was awful) ... is a better assessment.

Speaking of koff, can't seem to stop coughing today. And not the cute little 'eh eh', but the full blown 'oh no, this time I'm sure my lungs are coming out with that cough'- sort.

I assume he's less South African since he's back in London. Where apparently it's hot. In the office anyway. Speaking of offices, I got kicked out of mine today. But that is a story for another thread.

I've had a cough as well for several weeks now. It probalby is the shitty air in your workplace. Or at least, it probably doesn't help you to recover.
