I thought 'anyways' was an incorrect form of 'anyway'. But I was wrong. I am just wondering how common 'anyways' is, hence the vote

Though I would never say "anyways" verbally that I can think of. In written form I use both.

I thought 'anyways' was an incorrect form of 'anyway'. But I was wrong. Were you wrong? I think "anyways" is an incorrect form in anything but very casual / colloquial speech.

JoeP, I heard it today and I checked the dictionary which says anyways=anyway. However, according to Collins dictionary, it's: ( US ), ( Canadian ) a nonstandard word for anyway.

Nonstandard does mean it is wrong, though some would say that it can't be wrong if people use it.

Anyway also. But I sometimes use bad grammar that is commonly used in my town. I realise it's wrong but it's something I've grown up with.

After 9 months of teaching I still have students who do not understand that using 'gonna' or 'u' in a test is wrong. *rolls eyes and sighs*

Collins dictionary says it is American/Canadian. Anyway is an adverb and adverbs cannot be plural.
