As a programming experiment and out of curiosity, I had the idea of creating an online voting system. As it is Eurovision next week I thought it would be good to do it for that so we could all have a big, excited party with live voting. Nothing fancy, especially in the time available, but who would be interested?

I'm sure it would be more interesting that the actual contest.

I avoid the contest like the plague. Any voting systems are thus unnecessary for me.

I don't mind partaking in an online voting experiment but I have zero interest in Eurovision and have only watched it once when I went to a Eurovision party. Isn't there something else we can vote about?

I know a lot of the voting on Eurovision is political but if a country manages to produce a half decent act, they stand a decent chance of doing well. It would make a change if Britain could make a good entry for a change but I'm not holding my breath. The most tiresome aspect of Eurovision has to be the interval when the hosts are talking and the voting process at the end.

We will probably be unable to watch it. It's the 9th anniversary of the bar I still work in. We should be there, especially this year.

We will probably be unable to watch it. Do I detect a hint of regret? [/sarcasm]

More regret that I can't watch it "here", I mean while posting here. The thing itself I don't really care much about.

Only 90 minutes (or thereabouts) to go, for those of you who are interested. Due to the apathy over an official voting system, I didn't get to it, so we will have to vote on here. If everyone leaves there votes for each act on here with a rating of 0-10 (have to allow for the "nul points", of course) I will add some science later and work out a scoring system and overall results. Only vote for songs you have heard properly (I think they are all on YouTube already) and don't worry about missing any out. 1 France: Amandine Bourgeois - L'enfer Et Moi 2 Lithuania: Andrius Pojavis - Something 3 Moldova: Aliona Moon - O Mie 4 Finland: Krista Siegfrids - Marry Me 5 Spain: ESDM - Contigo Hasta El Final (With You Until The End) 6 Belgium: Roberto Bellarosa - Love Kills 7 Estonia: Birgit - Et Uus Saaks Alguse 8 Belarus: Alyona Lanskaya - Solayoh 9 Malta: Gianluca - Tomorrow 10 Russia: Dina Garipova - What If 11 Germany: Cascada - Glorious 12 Armenia: Dorians - Lonely Planet 13 The Netherlands: Anouk - Birds 14 Romania: Cezar - It's My Life 15 United Kingdom: Bonnie Tyler - Believe In Me 16 Sweden: Robin Stjernberg - You 17 Hungary: ByeAlex - Kedvesem (Zoohacker Remix) 18 Denmark: Emmelie de Forest - Only Teardrops 19 Iceland: Eythor Ingi - Ég Á Líf 20 Azerbaijan: Farid Mammadov - Hold Me 21 Greece: Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis - Alcohol Is Free 22 Ukraine: Zlata Ognevich - Gravity 23 Italy: Marco Mengoni - L'Essenziale 24 Norway: Margaret Berger - I Feed You My Love 25 Georgia: Nodi Tatishvili & Sophie Gelovani - Waterfall 26 Ireland: Ryan Dolan - Only Love Survives

I only watched it once. I forget if we watched it with English hosts or not. But I don't remember at all if it were exciting. Only that it was fun being with friends and chatting and eating and drinking and in between we'd have to stop to listen to mostly silly music but sometimes with funny costumes or acts.

They had some bizarre opening anthem this year. Didn't think much of it, even though they made a huge deal of it being written by Bjorn and Benny from ABBA.

05: Spain 5/10 Am watching the TV and listening to Radio 2 because I prefer Ken Bruce's commentary. There's about 10 seconds delay between the two, which is strange.
