Just finished watching Deep Space Nine for the umpteenth time. I think DS9 is a generally under-rated series but I think it is excellent especially as it progresses. It has a particularly good final double episode which neatly ties up all the loose ends and also has a serious message about the futility of war when in the end nobody wins.

I never really managed to get into Star Treck that much, even though I do like it when I get a chance to watch it.

Star Trek has many facets, all different. There are five different series and several films.

I still can't work out why, after the other eight were gone, that her designation didn't become one of one.

If they used Roman numerals she could call herself "I" then, too!

I'm watching Voyager season 4 at the moment - that's the one where Seven makes her appearance.
I always get irritated by the stupid things. Instead of just enjoying the story, I'm thinking things like:
'How come no one ever has to wait for the turbo-lift to arrive? It's always waiting there for them when they walk up to to the door.'
'Why do they even bother with turbo-lifts when they could just transport from one part of the ship to another?'
'What are the Jeffries tubes actually supposed to do (other than provide a used-almost-every-episode plot line where they are crawled through)?'
... and so on.
Also, DS9 is spoiled for me by the very bad acting of Avery Brooks.

My favourite is TNG, but I like Voyager a lot too. I thought the outline for Star Trek: Enterprise was quite good, but they quit the series before it could get seriously good. I thought the relationship between T'Pol and Mark was interesting. (At least, that's what I think they were called. It's been a while and names are not my strong suit)

You think they beam it out or something? Someone I knew at university had a book of the official blueprints for the ship and they are on that.

Star Trek nerdy is knowing where the toilets are on the Enterprise! Being nerdy is learning to speak Klingon.
