I've not seen the later series of it so far. It was always on at silly times and the story arcs made it too difficult to understand what was going on if you missed episodes.
I think they made a mistake in going backwards as it limited what they could do too much. They only had so many technological advances they could have made and I think they made a huge chunk of the gap between launch and Kirk in the first series, even though it was supposed to be set a long time prior to the original series.

Just started watching TNG, again and Encounter at Farpoint for the umpteenth time. The storyline is good but some of the dialogue is corny and direction wooden. And those guys in miniskirts!!!!!' Luckily the series does improve as time goes on as the characters find their feet.

The ending was a bit of a let down Two giant jellyfish?

I may have said this before, but I find all the episodes with Q in to be disappointing, even though I like the actor (can't remember his name)!

I read some Star Trek books with Q in it and those were often a lot better. However, they try to make him come across as an omnipotent being with a very different train of thought from tiny humans. It's too big a character, I think, to work out well.

I quite like Q but they couldn't quite decide on his personality. Sometimes he was quite evil and sometimes rather like a naughty little boy. He was certainly spoilt.

How come Khan has become a European when he was supposed to an Indian?

On the whole disappointing. Too much action and not enough plot. Not that I could understand anyway. I gave up trying to follow what was going on about three quarters of the way through.

I didn't like Star Trek for the same reason. It was just too weird.

Star Trek did have many gaping holes. I had to watch it twice to work out what was supposed to be the plot in places.
...as for standing on a planet and being able to watch another being consumed in a very artsy way by a black hole... where do I start?

I am interested in seeing IntO DArkNEsS at some point, but not racing to see it though.

I got the fairies to deliver it to me, but it was very poor quality, so I only watched for 15 minutes or so. Those 15 minutes didn't really make sense, though I'm sure it all got explained later. I usually don't like to fall straight into the action before seeing the stage set and the main character introduced.

A film like a book should get your attention from the start but not quite so aggressively.

Just watched STNG Menage a Trois. Rubbish story but totally worth it for the last few minutes when Picard quotes Shakespeare.

Yes, love that part. Do you know the Picard Song? It's brilliant: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6oUz1v17UoThough I'm sure I've posted it before, I just had to do it again because of its awesomeness.

I've not seen that before. I think it benefited from not having been put through auto-tune. Starship captains should always speak-sing!

Just watched TNG Future Imperfect again. Intriguing story but the final 'alien' is so fifties scifi.

*rolls eyes at Alva* We need a jar. You have to put money in it every time you make a terrible pun. We could solve poverty within a few months I'm sure >_<

I wouldn't be too vocal about it, you seem to be following in Alva's footsteps sometimes... (By the way, I hope y'all realize I'm just kidding...?)

A pun jar may solve poverty for some, but I'd be bankrupt in no time!
