Does anyone watch BBC's Sherlock? I gave in to incessant nagging and finally watched the series - I quite enjoyed it, but I did wish the same cast would be used to dramatize the stories set in the proper time period. Either way, I think I'm slowly on my way to becoming a Cumberb*tch I like Sherlock's voice more than is healthy, and that it's like Alan Rickman's doesn't help matters. I really dislike the actor that played Moriarty, though, my skin crawls every time he speaks. I like to like my villains, not be irritated by their appearance! I'm not sure whether I'm actually playing tribute to Moriarty's character by disliking him, or whether I'm criticizing him.

I saw it and quite enjoyed it. They seem to have gone mad for making Sherlock Holmes stuff recently. I liked the choice of Martin Freeman as Watson, too.

I love it. I have no problem with the modernization of it, and it is done a lot better than in the tv series Elementary.

I agree that it's better than Elementary, and I also enjoy it.

I love Martin Freeman as Watson! Aarham can't get out of the idea of him as Bilbo, though, so keeps on asking a hundred times why Bilbo is a doctor.
My friend who is studying in Cardiff saw the cast filming a few months ago. Martin Freeman was going to sign her autograph book but security threw her out.

He's the same guy as played Bilbo? I didn't know that...

Young Bilbo from The Hobbit, not old Bilbo from LoTR.
He was also in Shaun of the Dead that I happened to watch the other night.
ETA: oh, and Arthur Dent!

He's also in the original, British version of The Office and the short-lived ITV comedy Hardware, among many other things.
I have known who he was for a long time, but it's only in recent years he has become more well known, especially internationally.

Ah! Since I'm face blind, I have a very hard time with actors. I don't remember what they look like from film to film.

Ah! Since I'm face blind, I have a very hard time with actors. I don't remember what they look like from film to film. My mom can't remember who's who DURING a film! We enjoy watching Poirot and Sherlock together, and I have to keep pausing every few minutes to explain who said what to who. I like Martin Freeman, I saw him for the first time in The Hobbit and then in Sherlock.

It sounds like your mom is face blind also, Ming. I have the same problem.

I have great difficulty telling actors apart in films sometimes. I depend on them having different hair styles with different colours. Three blondes with equal length hair, all in their early 20s are impossible for me to distinguish.

I usually find looking at their faces helps!

All faces look basically the same -especially the ones with the most regular features. But hairstyles can be very helpful in keeping people straight.

I'll use that as an excuse next time I'm caught looking at a woman's boobs! "All faces look the same! I need another way to identify you!"

I usually find looking at their faces helps! It's good that you can tell people apart by looking at their faces. People who are face blind can't.
