I have broken it to my nearest and dearest that I am applying for a job as a walrus.
No-one seemed surprised.

Do the neighbours leave presents of fish on your doorstep. Can you balance a ball on your nose?

Look I held off for SIX HOURS before saying that. I deserve a medal. The Beatles wrote some seriously strange stuff!!! I am the elementary penguin!

If you guys are going to commit puns, I'm off to bed. If the forum goes quiet, it's all your fault. You'll have to spend 2 hours each day dressed as a penguin, squawking. You can't make me cut back on my penguin hours to just two!
|
|
|
Post by JoeP on Jun 29, 2013 11:00:25 GMT
And the squawking? That seems a bit limited.

Freedom of speech! Or of squawk!

There's nowhere to hide. And anyway, she won't get far with those short legs.

Now those are hell, even when being played properly

They can be okay in the right circumstances. What drives me mad with them is when someone does that thing of playing three other notes every time they move to the next one. They claim it's a great, hard to master skill, but I think it sounds really bad, no matter who is doing it!

Post by Mari on Jun 29, 2013 20:16:08 GMT
The only time they come close to being good, is when they are played correctly and in a big group. Like so: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW5cECZx8k0But seriously, why always that same stupid song over and over again? You'd think it's the only thing bagpipers know how to play.

They can be okay in the right circumstances. Eg at the south pole, many thousands of miles away.

That's where they belong! The penguin doesn't seem too impressed, though.
