Yeah my vet said it wasn't a good idea to get em done before six months but I presume that the place you got him from knew what they were doing Well, yeah...it was the Oregon Humane Society, and, other than working to end petlessness, they are focused on ending the pet population boom by assuring that most, if not all, household pets are spayed or neutered. I think they try to do the deed ASAP (meaning anything more than 2 lbs. body weight) just to assure that it happens. This is rather than extract a promise from some irresponsible hoomin that they will return at some future point to pay all those dollars to remove the offending organs with appropriate snippage....I get the impression that there has been a bit too much 'non-compliance' in the past.

Just catching up with this! Picard is gorgeous! But I need to see more pics, just to make sure I notice the ladies on this forum are very demanding of us men. Wanting us to do unlazy things like extra photos. ...

Somebody is stealing my lines!
All the cats I had in Oz were neutered by 12 weeks I think. It seems pretty normal there.

Stealing lines is the lazy way. Isn't that how we do things?

No, that's how I do things. I'm lazy.

But that would be a waste of the effort of typing a response.

You have to be efficiently lazy otherwise you're not being really lazy.

Joe's got that right....try 'rubbing his tummy' and you'll get your hand chewed and kicked. He's still pretty good about not using much in the way of claws, except, of course, when he's doing his "Cowabunga!" leaps to grapple up my leg, which consists of launching himself for the top of my knee with all four sets of claws extended to snag the cloth material should he not actually make it to the top of my knee, followed by clambering up with his claws.
I have to admit, I'm going to be appreciative once he masters that in a single jump with no claws required....

I was rubbing Pip's tummy last night and he became *coughs* sexually interested. That totally icked me out. Used to happen with Merry but never with Pip before.

I attribute it to sexual frustration that Molly won't let him near her

He is sitting atm on the windowsill, gazing out at her (she's outside) through a gap in the curtains
I don't have the heart to tell her that I think she is shagging the handsome tortie next door. Happily she is neutered.

I got the treatment at 6 months for free. I did have to get there and back which caused a bit of a problem, but I did want them neutered so they wouldn't start spraying etc.
