In other feline news Molly is spending more and more time outside, which actually means in the next door neighbours' house. I saw her go in there when I went out earlier .. she was through their living room window like a shot . She is back in now but she keeps scratching at the front door and obviously wants to be out but I am reluctant to let her in case they are getting annoyed by it

Was wondering how she was doing. I doubt the neighbours are bothered though or they wouldn't let her in at all.

The first time a cat walks through your door, you either welcome it or shoo it out. Either way that sets the pattern of behaviour for evermore. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Well I DID ask them and they said nothing to worry about but they might just have been being polite. They have two of their own (one of which is the spitting image of Molly)

If they say it's okay and nothing to worry about then they only have themselves to blame if they're not happy with it... You think all black cats look the same!

I can usually tell two people apart if they have different colouring. But yeah, any two people in the same basic age/gender/colouring are so hard to tell apart. I have stopped trying with my kids' friends.

Do the kids know and keep bringing back the same people and are just telling you different names?

They might be. But it's more likely they keep bringing new people and saying it's [same generic Finnish child's name here], I have no idea.

Well, if they all have the same name, it's less of a problem. Michael Baldwin, this is Bruce. Michael Baldwin, this is Bruce. Michael Baldwin, this is Bruce. Michael Baldwin, this is Bruce. Michael Baldwin, this is Bruce. Is your name not Bruce, then? No, it's Michael. That's going to cause some confusion! Mind if we call you Bruce?

Exactly! So I tend to refer to all of my son's friends as "Jere" and all my daughter's friends as "Salla". Like it matters.

I'm not face blind. Often I have trouble remembering names and where I've met someone before, for people I know less well, but I can tell people apart and generally recognise *whether* I have met someone before.
Also, I have a extrovert shell - up to a point.

I could be at the pub in the offensive incorrect building across the street, talking to actual humans. Instead I am here, typing to you virtual ones. This is not terribly unusual for message board types. We are birds of a feather. Or cats and planets and ungulates of a feather.

Nothing sums it up more for me than the memory of sitting in the Lounge at the local guest house (which was frankly a good deal more comfortable than my grubby house tho everyone was too polite to actually put it that way) and realising that myself, Colin, Joe Pee, Genie, Karla and Steve were ALL, at one point, sitting tapping away on various different mobile devices. I think only Alan wasn't
