I am having problems dispensing with the Resizr tag in my avatar space. I have attempted replacing it with a cute goat pic, and then just removing their image...to no avail.
Can an admin wipe that category clean so that I might start anew?
Also...Is anybody here adept at resizing images to the necessary size for avatar use here (100 x 100 pxl, IIRC)?

I can resize an image and host it for you but I'm not sure what you mean by wiping a category clean. I have, however, deleted your avatar, www.resizr.com/resized/a7c9.jpg, which is no longer available.

That...wiping the category clean....removing that avatart thingee, which it would not allow me to do. Thanks. I would most like to have Mr. Gruff resized for here. He is at objectiveministries.org/kidz/mrgruff.gifHe's too large for avatar usage.

The warning on the 'Modify Profile' page that avatars must be no larger than 100 x 100 pixels is a lie. I've added it to profile as it is and it seems to work.

Well, thankee kindly, sir.
I'll be obliged.
If it's a lie, increase its size so that it isn't as 'compression distorted' as it is at present.
Then I'll be even more obliged.

I see what's happening. The software has surrounded the image with tags that resize the image to 65x65 pixels:
<img src="http://objectiveministries.org/kidz/mrgruff.gif" alt="[avatar]" title="[avatar]" border="0" width="65" height="65"/>
I can't stop that happening but I have been able to resize the image so that it is square, and hence undistorted.

I see what's happening. The default avatar size if 65x65. If your avatar is larger than that or a different shape, you can specify an avatar size up to 100x100. The solution in your case is to specify an avatar size of 69x100.

It is referring to the display size, rather than the size of the source image. 100x100 seems really small now. At least Forumer was 150x150.

Yes, I noticed when changing people's groups that some have HUUUGE avatars on their own profiles, but the site resizes them to a standard size.

The avatars are downloaded in the original size and resized by the browser. It might slow things down for a user who has a slow broadband connection.
