Forumer's solution to the current slow speed of the old Europeforum is to migrate all forums to Yuku. A few hours ago, Super Moderator Wild Cat posted this message:
I suggest that you take stock of what information you have on the old forum that you would like to keep (private messages, addresses, significant conversations) just in case it goes pear-shaped.

Well yeah they've been saying they were migrating it all for ages now. They can eff off though. I'd rather stay here tho I will go with majority opinion.

Yes, notwithstanding our eventual destination, Forumer have declared that they chop the old EF as it stands at the moment sometime after next weekend.
ETA: I'm not exactly sure why I said that, they haven't made such a precise declaration.

Well is the idea to migrate the posts and things? If it is we at least have longer to retrieve the stuff we want kept

Well is the idea to migrate the posts and things? If it is we at least have longer to retrieve the stuff we want kept It is, yes, but do you really think it will work? And do you think PMs will be migrated? I have noticed that the following people have different email addresses on the old and new Europeforums: Alvamiga, bigsleepj, Carly, ceptimus, charliebrown, juju, Karen, Kye, Mari, Moose, raspberrybullets, Thingy, tourmaline and Zeuxis. If your email address on the old Europeforum is invalid, can I suggest you update it before Saturday 24 November otherwise you will not be able to access the old Europeforum after it is transferred to Yuku (without assistance from the admins).

Both of mine are valid. This forum wouldn't send a verification message to my main email account for some reason, so I used my gmail one instead.

I would not have the faintest idea what my email on the old forum was

It was your old aol address. Whether we use it or not, we need you (Moose) to have a valid email address so that the transfer to Yuku can take place without a hitch and so I've changed your email address on the old forum to your current one. I won't change any other email addresses because it's up to everyone else to decide whether they might want to access the old forum after the transfer to Yuku.

I always use different addresses for most things. That way, when my address gets leaked I know who is to blame and can change it with minimal hassle as it won't affect anything else.

Well I've updated my email. Didn't even remember I had that old emai address so I assume it probably doesn't work any longer.

my email on the old forum is still one I have access to - it's just one I don't use very much anymore.

Are the old EF and the new EF going to merge or stay separated?

The old and new EFs are run by separate companies so they will not be merged. Even if the same company owned both, I don't think you could merge them.
