I get no recent results when using the search facility, and no results at all if I limit the search to the last 5 days. 'Search' in the top links bar > europeforum.freeforums.net/searchEnter a search term that's definitely been posted recently, like 'bread' Enter '5' in the box 'posted within the last' >>> 'No posts were found.' Are we hobbled by some system that only indexes posts for searching at infrequent intervals? Are we supposed to have a perfect 5 day memory?

You get results for 'bread' in last '5' days?

No, I suspect it has a glitch that makes it look for threads, and if it was started more than 5 days ago it won't find it. Works with no time frame or 15 days.

But with no time frame or 15 days I still don't get any posts returned that are within the past 5 days. The most recent one is Aug 14th.

You are right, it won't show posts less than about 5 days old. Bizarre. A bug?

You are right, it won't show posts less than about 5 days old. I knew you would agree with me eventually Tastes nasty to me, for sure. Can someone in power take it up with proboards?

Could be they have an indexing system that has stopped, or isn't keeping up with demand. They wouldn't be the first people to have set up such a system and then overloaded it.

In a fit of Microsoft irony, I fixed a PC at work yesterday, where the machine was running unbearably slow because of their Fast Indexing service clogging up about 80% of the machine's resources!

There's no irony here. Obviously only one thing can be fast at a time. If the Fast Indexing service is running, naturally the rest of the PC can't be fast.
