Russell has a warty lumpy thing of indeterminate nature and is having it removed under general today.

Good news! So the lump was nothing, just old age or something?

'scuse an iggerant newbie , but ....Russell ? Russell is Thingy's son. They all go to the vet and get a bulk discount. ... Nope ... I'm just as much in the dark as you

Manitou, JoeP, how about a dog? I'm not sure which one Russell is but I remember a couple of pictures of nice dogs

I'm quite sure it was a dog though.

Will they do a biopsy, such as Honey had? Always nice to know what it was, even if it's been removed.

Russell is indeed a dog.
He's back home and doing well, though he has to wear a buster collar which he hates. The wound is bigger than I expected.
Yes Alva, they've taken a biopsy; we should get the results next week.

Now you really didn't have to post a pic of the wound *tends to faint when seeing blood and/or gore* First piccie was cute though How old is he?

Honey has lots of fun with her cone, walking at a pace and then going to sniff the ground, or run up the stairs and hoisting herself!

Haha - that's funny. I had to put a cone of shame on one of my greyhounds once, but we ended up putting the muzzle on him instead as he was in danger of wrecking the entire house with it. Russell is pretty sore today and is a wee bit grumpy, but otherwise fine.

We put one of those on our doggy Sam when he had stiches on his inner thigh. He got that cut from chasing a cat and crashing into a parked car! Anyway, he was so upset that we ended up putting him in an old pair of shorts with holes cut out for his tail and willy. He was so happy! And looked super cute with his little tail sticking out (he only had a stump tail, for some reason most of his tail was gone).

Honey had trouble with her cone a number of months back as it would get to the floor before she could reach her food. Had to use a very big cone as she could still reach her wound with the original one.

Our dog had one once and he just stood there, staring at us, willing us to have mercy. Which we had. And he didn't touch his stitches in return.

That's not mercy, that's doggy mind-control!

Russell's had his stitches out and the lumpy thing was benign so all's well. He's still having to wear the cone of shame though as the wound is not quite sealed enough to withstand his attentions.
