943 731 Mari, I fogot to ask, does your daughter never wake you up at night? Our little boy woke up crying last night, I guess a nightmare, possibly from when lightning struck the chimney of the nearby swimming bath earlier that night. The little guy slept through it which surprised me since my ears were ringing from the loud bang that followed, but maybe it still registered somewhere in his subconscious.

943 729 How old are all the babes now? Well, both the ones already born and being discussed on this thread. I could probably work it out but I suspect there are people here who know very well!

So he'll be two soon? That's impossible.

Yes, he will be two in August. Sometimes I find it hard to believe as well. At the moment his speaking is developing so fast, that's incredible. Outside with others he still tends to be rather quiet and speaks less, even with me at times, but when we look at books, he names things and makes comments now.

In contrast, I was nearly 2 before I spoke just one word and my mother thought there was something wrong with me.

I guess you were getting your thoughts in order before speaking.

943 722 Something like that. I had a sister who interpreted everything I wanted and served my every need But when I eventually did say something, it was whole sentence. My mother was shocked.

943 721 Girl talks, but you have to know her to understand most of it. She has about 20 clearly distinguishable words and sounds. She's 16 months today. Kaylee, she sometimes wakes us up, but most of the time she gives a loud cry and then continues to sleep...while we're awake listening if something's up She only really wakes up at night when she's teething or ill. Frodo is 26 weeks and 1 day today, 14 more weeks or so to go.

943 718 Really old usernames. I'd used Athas too much at some point and Kaylee would have been Malcolm's name if he had been a girl and then it would have been strange to have it as a username here.

I'm currently enjoying my first pint in a pub in nearly four months. It's nearly 4pm in the afternoon and there are just five customers.

I forgot the number because Tybbe distracted me.
Anyhow, did it taste better than the one at home?

Ah. 943 711. My holiday is over In other news, Girl seems to be on the verge of starting to walk and I'm now watching the great British sewing bee while she's in bed and Peter is taking a shower.

Lucky you, not having rain for a long time. We've had lots of it recently.
Sometimes babies start climbing before they can walk properly, which can be quite hair-raising.

My sisters and I were all a bit late with walking. I was still the earliest at around 15 or 16 months. At church last year I saw a nine month-old boy walk and he was small for his age. That looked almost bizarre.

943 705 Apparently the average is 18 months. Girl is 16 months. She's been walking behind her walker since she was 12 months though. She can also dance without holding on to anything, but doesn't seem to have the confidence to actually walk. Oh well, she'll get there.

943 704 According to my mum I started walking the week I turned one year old. My mother in law can't remember when Peter started to walk.

943 703 I can't remember the exact day Malcolm started to walk either. He would manage two or three steps on his own every now and then in early October last year and then gradually more. In late October or early November we bought his first poper shoes. By then he had been walking unaided for about two weeks. But it was gradual, there wasn't this one moment of "Oh, he's walking".

943 702 We had to buy proper shoes for Girl several months ago, since she started walking behind the walker. We took her outside with the walker as well, so her indoor shoes were ruined pretty quickly. Girl doesn't really take any steps by herself yet, though she literally runs behind that walker.

943 700 We never had a walker for Malcolm. Not sure if we should have, but he seems to have been doing fine without it. He is getting quite confident on his little training bike now and treats it like a mountainbike. Let's see when he will be ready for a real bike.
