943 490 And it hasn't healed yet? Sounds like you might need to visit a podologist. Podiatrist? I did, six months ago. She looked at it and trimmed the nail but didn't give me any other advice, so I'm not sure what to do now.

943 489 That's... not helpful Perhaps a knobbeltang could sort you out? My mum has a toe that sticks up a bit so she has to bring every new shoe to the shoemaker for the knobbeltang to be used on it. nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/KnobbeltangOn my mobile I can't navigate to the English version of Wikipedia to find the English term for knobbeltang for you, but I included the Dutch Wikipedia page. And a picture: www.shoesupply.eu/knobbeltang.html

943 488 Knobbeltang? What a wonderful name The literal translation is 'lump pliers' but that's boring compared with 'knobbeltang'. I haven't been able to find a proper English equivalent.

943 487 943 492 No, I have trouble with shoes. I normally wear black ones when I go walking but today I wore my brown ones. They, or rather the left shoe, put pressure on the fourth toe, which had already been damaged on a walk six months ago. You should try green shoes. They are more environmentally sound.

The Dutch wiktionary has an English version for knobbeltang which unfortunately translates knobbeltang into a hideous sexual word.

943 484 Somehow the ability of internet translation to make a perfectly normal word in one language into a sexual one in another language doesn't surprise me...

943 482 While actually it makes a lump in your shoe so your lumpy foot can fit the shoe.

943 481 The Dutch wiktionary has an English version for knobbeltang which unfortunately translates knobbeltang into a hideous sexual word. What Dutch wiktionary are you looking at? knobbeltang - WikiWoordenboek says Deze pagina bevat geen tekst. And the Zoekresultaten voor "knobbeltang" - WikiWoordenboek are Er zijn geen resultaten voor uw zoekopdracht. - No search results. My translater gives "lump remover" as the translation. mine says "lump pliers" which is pretty accurate based on the pictures. "Lump-making pliers"?

943 479 I'm awake because Frodo is in an awkward position and there is a loud noise outside like someone is sanding something with an industrial machine. Sometimes the sound fades away but it keeps coming back. I wonder what it is.

943 478 Apparently I heard corn threshers. No idea why they'd have to go at it at night.

943 475 Yes. I live in a town, but in a rural area. Depending on the wind I can also hear the cows on a big farm a couple miles away.
