943 275 A little worse but not a lot worse, thanks. I've decided to go easy on the codeine tablets because I've only got four left. I've contacted the physiotherapist for a consultation because I thought it might be more useful than my doctor. ETA: I'm now getting Voltarol adverts on Facebook ETA: The physiotherapist has referred me to the local hospital. Sharon rang me to make a face-to-face appointment. I said that I could do a face-to-face appointment but would prefer a video appointment. This would enable me to lip-read and also see the therapist's facial expressions and she said she would make enquiries because "not all consultants know how to do that!" I told her, I'm 76 and I've learnt how to do that

943 272 A friend of mine has been ID'd at the supermarket and she's delighted. She tried to buy a few bottles of cider but didn't have her ID on her so they refused to sell it to her. She's 39

I got ID'd in the States when I was 55. That was a shock to my system!

I have been asked jokingly for ID three times (twice entering a pub and once buying a bottle of wine).

I have the very good fortune of not looking my seventy years and regularly get astonished (and flattering) comments when I give my age.
Please feel free to ask me my age and make a positive comment about how young I look ...

943 268 That reminds me of all the ladies in my congregation who are in their 90's and are just as eager as 5 year olds to tell people how old they are!

Our next door neighbour's daughter is going to Washington in the next few days. I suggested she should stay well away from the riots and she assured me she would!

I didn't ask. She was going on business. Most of the conversation was about her mother, who lives next door to us and is elderly and very unsteady on her feet. We discussed a safety necklace with a button she can press to alert us if she falls down or has some other emergency.

I had a mysterious phone call this morning from a mobile number that was almost identical to my own - just one number different (ending 776 instead of 766). I didn't answer it because I had switched my phone off. So I sent a text message to the caller - I don't like phoning people - but sending failed.
I can't think how it could have occurred. I wondered if anonymous caller A tried ringing number B thinking they were ringing me. It is an easy mistake to make, in which case, did B ring me to ask me to advise A of the number? But if that's the case, why did my text message fail to send? I'll probably never know.

Sadly, the sending number was probably faked and the caller was *shock* a dishonest person.

I had a session with a physiotherapist yesterday because my nerve hasn't gone away and she said it was probably caused by years of bad posture. Hmph.
