Predicting another day... wow, that's a risky endeavour, tangent.

Don't be too sure, it's only a hypothesis that the sun will rise tomorrow: and this means that we do not know whether it will rise. (Ludwig Wittgenstein)

The sun is rising on a permanent basis somewhere. (Don't tell Ludwig that it's actually the rotation of the Earth!)

I'm not sure if it's rising here today. It's quite dark and grey outside.

I suppose around this time of year it does sort of skulk along the bottom of the sky and then go under the horizon again, like it never really had the motivation to get up. Must be really bad further away from the equator! I don't think the longer days would ever make up for it being dark most or all of the day, even if it was for a couple of days in the year, even.

It was exceptionally dark at 2.30pm yesterday afternoon. I felt rather depressed driving around town in the car in the rain.

We lit candles yesterday afternoon since there was no electricity. I drove the kids to the nearby town and had lunch there. Then I tried a few spots to get wifi for my ipad so I could answer an important e-mail. I was kind of ashamed of myself for using some unknown person's wifi by a block of flats. That's the only access I could get around there. Since this happens so rarely, I still don't consider getting internet to my mobile.

I'm so achy today I can hardly move and considering how dark it is, I'd just like to stay in bed today.
