I had a good start when I was off work sick last week but now I'm back at work and studies are calling and sinterklaas and christmas and in between that a trip to Berlin and a trip to Rome. So Í suspect you will keep the lead Shake. At least until the new year anyway. Oh yes, I'm sure it's just for the time being. I don't tend to post as much when I'm off, though. I am looking forward to my week off at Xmas/my birthday/New Years.

I was quite far in the lead when I was really here last time. That was Sunday two weeks ago. To think I've actually gotten a life since then. I just wish it was a bit of a happier one.

I have a life too, but I've been sick and have been spending more time at home. Admittedly, I don't have much of a social life at the moment.

If that's cavia, does that mean those little ones are cavities?

Does nobody else think these cavia are incredibly cute? Yes, but I think you get more excited about it.

Does nobody else think these cavia are incredibly cute? Yes, they're cute but the picture is tinged with sadness. We used to have two gerbils who decided to have 22 great grandchildren and, well, let's say, not all of them went to loving homes.

I'm grateful that all our three cavia babies grew up and became healthy, pretty pets who are enjoying a very good life here.

We were not able to have them neutered. I don't think the vet thought it was possible because their small size.

I wouldn't have a gerbil neutered, either.

Better just to identify and separate; Bumble-Wilhem arrived at the presbytery already neutered (by the rescue centre) but he and Ofelia still seem to have moments of great soppiness and generally get on very well - to the extent that they take food to each other, which is not generally a cavine characteristic!

Our couples get on well, too. Especaially Spotty and Basil adore each other.

I think the Rescue Centre resorts to neutering because they have to have keep the cavia in quite big groups and the lads can get very aggressive indeed if there is a sow in hear nearby. Bumble-Wilhem used to live with his brother but they started to do serious damage to each other. The CRC has a 'retirement' centre near the presbytery for the elderly unplaceable rescue animals, there is one group of eight sows there who all get on really well - not least because their natural habit is to live in big groups.
This should be in the cavia thread really - never mind!
