Col kindly bought us a huge bag of this whilst he was here so the mogs are back on it. It's expensive yes but it really does make a difference to the condition of Pip's coat/skin .. it clears up the ezxcema or however you spell that a treat. They both like it too, which is good as they tend not to like dry food all that much - there are some varieties they will eat but most of the cheap stuff they simply won't touch

I used to use it for the dogs (and still have a few bags as we got them as show prizes), but the breeder wants us to use Golden Eagle now, and as one of the dogs is partly hers still I have been ok with that. Harder to find but slightly cheaper, and better for the dogs, I think. I kind of balked at the tag line of "all natural and holistic", but trying not to hold that against it.
I have not yet been tempted to get it for the cats, though, they can stick with supermarket stuff. They eat too much anyway.

The main reason I like it is cos Pip has scabby skin and like I said it really does help. I suppose technically i could feed him RC and Luthy cheap stuff as her coat is always smooth and glossy but that would feel very mean

I have a regular brand. Not the cheapest, but definitely not expensive. If I forgot to order, the boys will just have to make do with supermarket stuff though. Tybbe seems to like that better anyhow. He also likes the fish flavours more thnan the bird flavours, which is tough luck for him, because I always buy the sample bags from this brand: you get 3 different flavours cheaper than 3 of the sdame flavour

Luthy will eat anything - despite what I said about about 'them' not eating cheap food; I meant Pip really - but Pip much prefers poultry flavours

My cats eat the fish flavours because my dog is allergic to chicken and once in a while he manages to scarf down some of the cats' food.

My cat food is out of reach as I think Honey would eat that in preference to her own, otherwise. They are both on expensive food as Tinker has long been suffering with skin problems and Honey has bowel problems. They both were fine eating the cheaper food, but the more pricey stuff resolves their individual problems.

And ultimately we love them We'd not feed a human loved one on stale scraps and bin siftings if we had a choice not to

That's assuming the cheaper stuff is garbage though. I think it's probably more close to a restaurant meal versus a 5 star restaurant meal.

I feed my pup food from the freezer section like Bil-jac. Also when I buy chicken cutlets in the deli to cook for dinner I get enough to feed him for a couple of days. I just don't like the idea of all that processed dog food that has wheat and other stuff. Also buy canned food that are healthier. He's a pampered dachshund.

Don't forget all the treats, too. Just because things are expensive, doesn't mean they're the best option, either!

How much is chicken over there? It's anywhere from US $1.99 to $2.99 a pound here.

I do not know exactly as I don't tend to buy meat less it's from the reduced aisle. It think it varies a lot too - a whole chicken can be had uncooked for as little as three pounds or cooked for four, but raw chicken breasts cost an absolute fortune.

Raw chicken Brest is expensive? Here, raw chicken in general really isn't high priced. Right now beef is higher due to this years drought, But I don't eat much red meat. Unless I make meatloaf or hamburgers and then I'll buy red meat.

Price per kilo in brackets.
Tesco 1.5kg for £5 (3.33) ASDA is 1.6kg for £5 (3.13) Morrisons 1.3kg for £4 (3.07) Sainsbury's 1.75kg for £5 (2.85)
Tesco is always making like they are cheap and better than everyone else; this is why I never go there for shopping unless forced to (aside from my issues with their business ethics). Someone the other day was trying to tell me that Sainsbury's were more expensive than everywhere else, yet they are more than 14% cheaper than Tesco on this example, who are most expensive (as per most of the time in my experience)!
