Swimmer, my SO, is off to Spain...to Barcelona, to be exact...on her own. Well, without me. She's with another older woman friend and they are intent on attending an 'immersion language session' of three weeks, including 'home stay' with a family in Barcelona. Then she/they have some free time to wander about. I've encouraged her to go do her thing. She is brushing up for wandering on her own in Costa Rica, but wanted the chance to return to Europe.

Three weeks with just the chickens? Hardly. There're also two felines and Fix, the lodger.

Indeed...Cleo was not happy with the movement of luggage around the house. She would not go out this morning (she usually demands to got out first thing in the morning). She only went out once Swimmer had left. I give her two days and she's all over me. I'm hoping Fix will help blunt the neuroses.

Lucky her. We plan to drive there next summer - much as I loved Croatia, I'm still suffering from dizziness because of the flying , so next year's holiday will be a road trip through France and northern Spain, I think.

Lovely! I never made it to Barcelona, or anywhere in Spain during our Europe escapades. Last year we made it to Lanzarote in Canary Islands, which technically is Spain, but it's not quite the same.

She has reported successful arrival at her destination. She's feet up at her Air B&B.

I am only dimly aware of this whole Air B n B thing but my sister tells me that it is quite good. As for Julie I can recommend the Lake District as a marvellous place to spend a week or two.

Hmm - I know it's lovely but I also live very close to spectacular mountains and lakes. And these days I wouldn't pay to go anywhere I wasn't guaranteed sunshine and temps over 30

Hehe - if it's guaranteed sunshine, I'm there! I would love to go back to the lakes one day, and Scotland. And to see Jo. But it would be a bit of a 'busman's holiday' in terms of scenery and (most importantly) weather.

Jo, how do you feel about walking the dog? Does it make you more or less anxious if the dog is there?
