Pat used to but we never really had enough bones to make it worthwhile.

I once tried to make a broth out of lamb bones (in fact I have probably done it successfully on occasion but this is the one I remember). I left the bones in a large pot with plenty of water and onion and herbs like bay leaf. Brought it to the boil, then put the gas on the very lowest setting. And went to eat the lamb that the bones had come from.
And later went to bed.
Woke up to a cloudy flat. Quite dense in the kitchen. Where the gas was still obediently on the lowest level, and the water had obediently simmered away. Leaving a black stinking mess of ... stuff. I had to throw the pot away, couldn't get it clean.

You can buy bones at the local supermarket - I presume yours does it too Steve. I can get an entire try of very meaty bones for about forty pee.
And speaking of pees, Joe Pee, that was entirely your own fault and not the fault of my wonderful suggestion. Also, you need to add carrots, turnip and potatoes.
