They seem to be enjoying something of a revival atm

I remember a revival some time back... as usual you'd be better hanging onto these things until they come round again. V

That said, the one pictured is not an original one as it does not have the face on it...

Oh! Just saw some on the absolutely amazing episode of Miranda that was on tonight. They played space hopper roulette with thumb tacks on the floor.
I love Miranda.

I used to love them, but I don't think we ever had one.

Oh! I know the item, never heard that name for them before. My girls have some in purple.

I sent one to my nephew via amazon a year or two ago. They came in red, blue or pink but there was no choice of colour. I banked on the fact that odds were that it would be blue or red. He got the pink one - of course. Not that he seemed to mind.

I have a picture of myself when I was about 3 on one of those with my hair all up in the air. But I don't know where it is now. :-( Also, I can't remember if I was wearing anything. 0_o

They didn't exist when I was a child.

But when your kids were children, they did, didn't they? Isn't that just as good?

Yes, they were around then and we did have one. But it's not quite the same as having one as a child.

Probably it isn't. My mother was worried when a 19-year old young woman stayed at our place for a while and would use on our swing because that woman was very overweight and my mother feared the swing might break.

It's not something you can tell someone about, "don't use the swing because you are too heavy."

The swing did survive. But it wobbled a lot when that woman got on.
