I'm eating it to ease my coughing and sore throat but man, that stuff is gross. I really don't get what all the hype is all about. Fans?

I take it with a pinch of salt in a glass of hot water. It tastes quite yummy that way.

I was trying to give it the same salinity as saliva but found it actually tasted better than honey in plain water.

I diluted it in a full liter of water, but now my water tastes like too sweet lemonade. After 3 days I can't stand the stuff anymore. No whiskey in it though. That might actually help by dulling my senses. And alcohol makes me sleepy so that would help as well. I've been waking myself up with coughing the last couple of nights.

I believe the home remedy cough syrup my mother whipped up was equal parts honey and whiskey, with a dash of lemon juice.
Just small amounts, too; it was administered with a teaspoon. No liter of water involved.

I *love* honey! I use it in tea instead of sugar.

I’m not big into sugar at all in my tea but will do honey every now and then.

I'm back on the honey treatment. Annoyingly it does help prevent the coughing a bit. Better than whatever the doctor prescribed anyhow
