My daughter is in Italy with her boyfriend for a couple of weeks, and I'm taking care of her cats --which would be fine except that just before they left one of them came down with an ear infection and needs meds twice a day She is NOT a happy camper and I have the scratches to prove it. The last couple of times she spit the pill out so often that it just disintegrated and I don't know how much actually got into her. Plus I have to clean out her ears and put drops in them. I do wrap her in a towel and that more or less works but neither of us are at our best. One more week!

I empathise. I've tried mashing pills up and also forcibly just trying to insert them and yeah - I always come off much worse.

Yeah, and, technically, alcohol is a solution, too.

Our cat is on permanent thyroid meds, so 3 pills every evening. I give her a bit of vitamin paste and after she tasted I squirt the pills with the paste right into her mouth. It works surprisingly well.
