Nothing special this year for us, we're just not in the mood.

Miisa and the kids are having Ninjamas (it's better than Christmas) dinner today - there will be turkey and probably ham and roasties and Nordic swede, carrot and potato casseroles.
I'm in London and will have turkey with my parents on Monday - and roasties and sausages and probably sprouts and stuffing and parsnips.

I'll be driving 6 hours after the Christmas Day service to my daughter's where we'll be having raclette, courtesy of my French-from-France son-in-law

Our turkey arrived, also two free boxes each of profiteroles and eclairs (I ordered one of each and they sent three of each; I checked and we were not billed for the extras).
People keep throwing free stuff at us this week. I feel a bit guilty.

I'll be driving 6 hours after the Christmas Day service to my daughter's where we'll be having raclette, courtesy of my French-from-France son-in-law Raclette? I’m not cooking. Other than two types of pasta and peppermint brownies. Then loading then and the gifts in the SUV and driving north. Speaking of which time for bed.

Raclette is a melted cheese dish, traditionally eaten with potatoes, but we have it with meats and veggies

Christmas dinner is all in confusion. Deborah and Andrew have gone down with heavy colds. Plan (a) was for each of us to have our own dinners at our own homes. Plan (b) was to bring them over to our house and give them our dinners. Plan (c), the current plan, is to leave them both at their house since Deborah is too ill to travel. Plan (d), which is in reserve, is to take cooked meals to their house and bring the dog back with us. We shall have to see what ends up. I really glad we didn't plan on having a special meal.

We've ended up with plan (a) after. After a long sleep, Deborah is feeling much better, although she may not have a lot of energy. And Andrew is not so bad at the moment. We're planning on having our own meal in an hour's time now.

My sister in law decided on a tapas style dinner. She also went for fancy stuff for the main course. Sorry, but that's just not us and tired kids also don't go well with a 3 hour sit down dinner style... We were ill so didn't feel up to organising anything ourselves and were glad to let her have a go at it, but it did show she has no experience with young kids. She did provide fries and pancakes for the kids at least though. Very thoughtful.
