Introducing Cleo & Murray, the Overlords of Ravenswood and the Abbey of St. Gallus: Cleo Murray This is a great leap forward for Murray, who was unseen for four days. Cleo, a very hoomin-oriented feline, has enticed Murray, a feral kitten, out in to the open and he is slowly granting more acceptance to the big, noisy oafs of hoomins. He thinks the whole regular chow and cozy 'donut' catbeds (he is shown reclining in one under the sofa) is great stuff. He remains aloof, but watches Cleo get lots of attention. He no longer scampers when sighted.

Murray breakthrough: I got down on the floor and inched forward to his spot, with him watching me intently. Once I got a hand on, he was compliant and soon soliciting more attention (although he did not leave the donut).

beautiful kitties and lucky to have found a loving home We keep assuring Murray that, despite his fears, he has really won the 'Kitty Lottery'. We think Cleo is clear on the concept and is busy taking stock.

Oh, sure. She has focused a lot more on Swimmer, who had been home all last week. Swimmer now qualifies for the 'STAFF' uniform.
Last night, we decided that they probably wouldn't be much of a threat upstairs in the main bedroom....so we left the door open. First thing this morning, I arose for a plumbing test to see dual dark feline figures scurrying about in the dark upstairs. They were bit reluctant to get on the bed due to the CPAP masks, but Murray did finally manage to curl up on Swimmer's feet, whilst Cleo did the early morning catstomp.

Pip always sleeps with me. Usually he sleeps under the duvet but this morning I woke up to find that I'd been moved low down the bed so my head was on the mattress whilst his Lordship was fast asleep on my pillow.

Heh...I came home from work this evening to find that both cats had found acceptable snoozing spots....right in the front rooms. Swimmer must have placed a chair cushion on the dining room table for Cleo, who is comfortable curled up on it. Murray has moved from the donut under the sofa across the room to the donut on an end table at one of the front windows. I don't think he's there because of the view, but because it is above the heater vent outlet. He was not phased by my arrival, and Swimmer had photographed him earlier in the day in that location, so he is comfortable and a lot less skittish. Since it is right handy to one of my upholstered leather chairs, it was very easy for me to get comfortable and stick a hand in to his donut to provide him with attention....he not only sucked it up, he was soon pushing his face through my hand for more petting, purring loudly, and squirming in delight. I have been totally accepted as staff and am no longer considered to be threatening....Swimmer is not far off. By the end of this week, he'll be ready to meet his veterinarian.

Heh....Yep. Big-time buddies.
I was sitting reading in the living room yesterday, with Murray on my lap and Cleo in a donut on the table next to me. He looked up to see her grooming herself, so he arose from my lap, took a few steps to insert himself in her process and get groomed himself. She groomed him. He even changed position so she could get all the right spots.
Last night, we made a major advance: We now have two official 'bedlumps'. They spent the better part of the night heaped into a fuzzy pile snoozing on the bed with us.

is lovely to sleep with kitties. Apart from the fact that yesterday morning I woke up and put my hand into a pile of cat sick on the sheet

Eww. How did you not wake up to the sound of Pip spewing?
Sleeping with kitties is cute, but hairy. We have a roll of fat tape next to the bed now so can pick up all the cat hairs in the morning.

Honey coughed up some phlegm right near me the other day. That was not pleasant! I "left my phone on charge" last night and, about half an hour later realised it was plugged in, but not switched on. Leant out of bed to turn on the switch and someone occupied my warm space! I spend most days only getting 15% of the bed and Honey and Tinker having the rest!

When you and Moose move in together will it be the animals having 100% of the bed and you two sleeping on the floor?

They'll just have to buy an extra bed.
