I have a lot of issues with this story, it makes my sceptical senses tingle. The only pictures that exist of this "monster" are either useless for size reference or downright taken in forced perspective to make it look as big as possible. I would like to hear from the pest controllers themselves, or better yet, if it really was that big, as professionals they should have realized it was something almost twice as long as a normal large rat and sent to the natural history museum if that were the case, at least to have a proper picture taken.

Seems there are some big critters about, although they don't seem to be rats as most people know them and are other breeds entirely. I suspect a lot of it is down to the amount of food waste cast all over these days. If these animals didn't have so much food so readily available, they'd not be increasingly common as they are.

That may be so, but I still think the rat looks very scary. The rats and cockroaches will survive when mankind has died out, I think. But the tardigrades will live longest, they can even survive in space. Attachments:
