956 326 If you think it's bad from where you are, you should be glad you're not inside my head! What you get is a very heavily filtered version of what goes on up there!

Today is the 3rd day in a row they are cleaning the windows on the building across from ours. This would not normally be a problem except for some reason they are making an annoying squeaky noise all the time. I am going to go mental soon.

I'm working and living alone, but today is good because I'm going out for lunch! Also, my weekend doesn't start until Monday, so this is still early mid-week for me.

I am having a nice Thursday! I am building a batch of new coaches for the 1/45 line, half for me: half to sell, and it is going well. I do not completely understand why batch building six coaches should be quicker than building them one at a time but it is - must be that the individual operations get repeated with the same kit, instead of having to switch around between tools in an unstructured way. Maybe also repeating an operation means that I speed up with repetition.
Going to make a two dozen footsteps up now ...

I have been looking at job searching tips. Some of them are so vacuous that it amazes me anybody gets hired to write this stuff.

I think many "tips" on most subjects are written by people who don't know much ... and then edited down to be simpler by marketing managers / content managers / advertising managers so there is no possible danger of anyone being put off by advice seeming even a tiny bit complicated or requiring thought.

On the other hand my social psychology course has probably given me the best advice. They were discussing first impressions and showing a clip from a documentary about it. There was a recruiter conducting interviews and essentially in the first few seconds even before the candidate spoke, she already had an impression of them. The rest of the interview she kept the same impression. So make sure first impression is a good one!

Ronald is fine with cooking and usually follows the recipe to the letter and gets good results. But he's got lazy since I'm home.
