Pip smells really quite funny - his fur I mean. I don't know what it is. He is cleaning himself as often as usual and he does not go out so he's not been rolling in anything. I can't really describe the smell - sort of like elderly dogs get sometimes maybe. Is it something to worry about?

My first suspect when cats smell is what they've been eating. It seems to get onto their fur.

Wait - if you haven't fed them anything new recently - maybe they've been eating the spiders!

Is there any puss coming from that infection on his eye?

No it's rather better. It's his coat that smells. It's not overwhelming or anything but it's a smell I mainly associate with wet dog.

Don't cats always smell?

No They make a house smell for various reasons but the actual cat itself is normally odour free

One of my cat's fur smells really good --kind of sandalwood-y. I like to sleep with my nose buried in it.

One of my cats also has fur or skin that smells more pungently that the other, but she always has as far as I can remember, so I am not worried.

He seems a bit better now ... perhaps he just ate something that disagreed with him

My Puck smells really nice, like warm cat and clothes still warm from the dry tumbler. Tybbe doesn't really smell.

What do you do? Do you put dryer sheets in her basket at night when she sleeps? Haha. I'm bad.

Nope, I do nothing. He is just naturally nice smelling (though I do air my laundry in the attic where they sleep)

Most cats smell neutral themselves. But they do make a building smell .. as do dogs.

I find the litter smells more than the cats!

My dog bathes regularly. He hops in the shower when I do sometimes. At least twice a week. And the crazy pup loves it.

Mine are with me in my bathroom, so I suppose they can absorb the smells in their fur, but thankfully they don't join me in the shower. Drying them of would be horror.

Ally takes a but a she is a long hair dachshund. I dry here with towel which does pretty good. Then she loves her some of the hair dryer. She likes a good blow dry.

Honey loves a good towelling down and also baths. The main thing is to get to her with the towel before she tries to remove the excess herself!

I dry off first. They shake in the shower with both doors shut. Then I let one out right into a towel.

A lot of it depends on the towel and who's doing the towelling!
