Patch has been quiet and passive since Saturday evening. We took her out to weigh her yesterday and she was really wet around her backside and her legs. She had lost weight and we fear she might have what Basil had in 2013. He had gallbladder stones and some of his organs had suffered already. Frank is going to take her to the vet later this afternoon and then we will see what he says. At least he is usually cheaper than the clinic we used to take our pets do and he doesn't tend to throw in all the technology if it isn't absolutely necessary. Now we have one cage with two miserable piggies - Sparky, who seems to be slowly getting worse and Patch who is completely passive now. They are older now, almost 4 1/2 years old, so I think it is easier to accept that some of them might die earlier, but I don't want them to suffer. We will see what the vet says.
Spotty, who was so ill last year, seems to be doing quite well, even though she is still quite light, Cotton has gained a bit of weight and is healthy and lively and as cute as ever, Mr. You's teeth grow weird, but other than that he is fine, and Gilbert is shy, but hheavy and happy. So we have four piggies that seem to be fine, they are all a little bit younger, though.

It's a shame when animals suffer. I hope Patch doesn't.

Frank took Patch to the vet. She had a bladder stone which he removed, somehow without cutting her open. Now she is on painkillers and should hopefully recover. Tonight she is quite drugged and tired.

So do we. Sparky even seemed concerned.

I think he just poked and prodded her quite a bit and (not sure if I'm allowed to say that here) inserted some sort of instrument that he used to pull the bladder stone out. She is still on painkillers (which she hates) and she is still quiet and spends a lot of time hiding which is understandable.

It does, but better than her being cut open. We are hoping she will be feeling better soon.
