Assuming you follow that particular calendar ... here is something for you to work on during New Year's Day.
Twelve words - some of them really ghastly puns - all of them connnected with bells or bell-ringing. 11 is a stinker especially if you are not from the UK.
1. A lady of the ball 2. On your forehead 3. Deadly Nightshade 4. Roar like a bull 5. Round the city 6. Where the bats are 7. Have you got a pot one 8. An awkward person can be this 9. And aid to lighting fires 10. A lock of hair 11. Seen with a Zebra 12. And for laundry

Well, I can't figure out any of them.

I can't either and I used to be a campanologist, although I've not done it recently.

Here's a clue then:
Belle of the Ball

I think I have four of them, but the rest are beyond me.

As long as you're not curling up in a small bell! (haw haw)

The only one for which I can wring out an answer is the 'where the bats are'....but there are no bells at all.

Miisa has achieved 4/12: the highest score so far. As a further aid, the answer to No. 11 is: a Belisha Beacon , which WG will doubtless agree has most of a bell in it.

Miisa has achieved 4/12: the highest score so far. As a further aid, the answer to No. 11 is: a Belisha Beacon , which WG will doubtless agree has most of a bell in it. I agree, it is not entirely bell free, like where the bats are. An awkward person can be bellicose or belligerent, but I don't think that is what is sought with that clue. The bullroar has to do with the bottom register of bells. And, what would poisonous Donna have to say of it all? I think I attained only three of the intended answers. I would also note that nobody even mentioned the 'ten loud ones', or even 'science icons'.

Or...Was an awkward person the same as, say, an odorous person, or a horking person, an ugly person? No appeal?
Oooo...Add another one: 'Round the city.
Like the highway which encircles Washington, DC.

I make that four correct answers WG ... but Miisa has pm'd a fifth correct answer so is still in the lead.

You could still allow bonus points for extra bell-related puns. Posters could then work like the clappers, chime in with new suggestions and a-peal to you to ignore the clangers and admire the changes. The competition could have several rounds and would be a ringing success!

This is a pair of Belisha beacons and a zebra crossing. (Or is that bellisha beacons in this case?)
