It has been a bit chilly and very windy today, but not even close to snowing. It did rain a little on the way home from work though.

We had just a couple of inches over the weekend, and then a dusting of powder last night. I'll likely not see any new snow, or at least very little, within the next week. At that point, I definitely won't see ANY until the 24th or so as we're coming back from Walt Disney World!!!

We're looking at 10cm for tomorrow. But it's back down to -20C at the moment. At least I got my car battery changed. It was refusing to start in the cold weather.

Years ago, when I was 16, we had that at night once or twice in Soutern Germany during a tough winter. Last year, we did manage to get down to -10 or -12 degrees in Bremen. The lake was frozen completely and people were ice-skating.

I had an all-day meeting. The traffic was pretty bad both ways. The way up, I took a route which was shorter but very hilly. Not fun. Coming back I took the longer flatter route. Still not fun, but at least I didn't have to worry about my car sliding down the mountain.

It is drizzling with rain here and I have to take Honey for a walk in a minute and go to a friend's house this afternoon. Want to try and fit a visit to town in too, if I can...

Here in the other Portland, I'm suffering after a full day of gardening....I'm sore all over, but the roses are all pruned.

We didn't miss it, but we didn't get hit as badly as NYC/Conn/Boston areas. I'd say we had about 15-18", perhaps. It was all done by Saturday morning, but cold. Sunday was still cool, but sunny, and today was sunny and warm, nearly 10C!
All of our Friday evening/Saturday morning activities were canceled, so it made for actually rather a relaxing weekend, unexpectedly.

I went out for the first time mid-afternoon Friday and got rid of the 6-7" which had already fallen, and cleared off the 3/4-1" which fell while I was doing the rest of it, then stopped for the night.

Maybe they sent the snow second class! This country grinds to a halt with only an inch or two of snow! That sounds like around here. We haven't had any this year. Oh, flurries, but zero accumulation. Still, flurries can bring on panic trips to stock up at the grocery. Less than an inch of accumulation closes the schools and increases the fender bender incidents. More than an inch and the attitude becomes apocalyptic. So...no snocalypse this year. I guess we'll have to wait until next year, at soonest, to see which poor sucker of the local media gets stuck reporting from Troutdale, at the mouth of the Columbia Gorge, where the cold winds cut through everything and truckers convene over coffee and wait for the thaw.
