I have noticed that in recent years that when they do a body frisk at customs that they seem to have got obsessed about getting someone of the same gender to do the search.
Personally, I would not want a man doing it. What is the thinking behind that?

When we left for Birmingham in December, the lady at the airport in Bremen felt for my bra as well as pushing my top up (fortunately, I still had two tops underneath that one) and putting her hand down my pants (I was wearing jeggings, thinking nobody would assume I could hide anything in there) - not far enough for it to get indecent, but the fact that she did all that made me feel uncomfortable and angry. Btw. neither in Amsterdam, nor in Birmingham did they do that to me. In Amsterdam I just had to take off my watch and things were fine. |

One of the great joys I have about no longer working for an airline - I no longer have to undergo the indignity of the security search as part of my daily routine. Airport's used to be fun places, even a bit sexy at times, lots of mild flirtations with the staff in the business lounges etc. Gone ... all gone  |

I've never actually been on a plane .. maybe I'd be surprised and dismayed if I did at what security is like these days. And Col, I think that most men would prefer to be frisked by women *rolls eyes* but that most women would prefer NOT to be frisked by men. That said, I'd rather not be frisked at all.

Airlines sometimes frisk you with a metal scanner, which they sweep close to your body without touching it. But they still stick to the same gender (except sometimes in Singapore).
