I was woken early this morning from a vaguely pleasant but unmemorable dream to the sound of violent retching coming from under the covers. Before I even had time to properly come round and yell 'not on the bed, you mangy fuzzbucket!' Pip had puked his supper up. UNDER the covers, hence conveniently managing to hit both sheet below and duvet above. He usually gets out of bed if he's gonna puke, but evidently decided it was too cold this morning.
He's on the naughty step till 2016.

Honey used to be absolutely perfect at going to the door and getting attention if she was going to throw up or go to the toilet, but if I am watching TV, she can go on the upstairs landing if she has not been recently. I always try to keep her in a pretty constant routine, but this sometimes gets a bit messed up when I go and visit Moose for a number of days.

Well, that's what you get with cats in bed!

Yes, though I'm not sure it's so one-sided. At this time of year my two snuggle up to me at night and I don't think they're just doing it for my benefit!

I don't think I'd ever allow pets in bed.

Now you can imagine the situation when my boys vomits, which happens not often but it's bound to happen with kids, not once or twice, but a few times before they get bigger.

I hate it when my cats puke under the bed. The bed is hard to move and there's not a lot of space. Half the time I leave it for far too long then have to scrape it off with a knife.

We have never allowed our cats upstairs after we go to bed. If they're going to puke, they puke downstairs.

What is this "allow" of which you speak...? I think that just means that tangent hasn't found any of the upstairs puke yet.

We close the downstairs doors so the cats cannot come upstairs. Otherwise they pester us for food and attention at 6 o'clock in the morning.

When Honey was a tiny puppy and in less control of her bladder and bowels, she became very quick to learn to wake me up to let her out to go to the toilet. I would rather be woken by her in the middle of the night than have to deal with her going to the toilet in the bedroom (we had the entire floor covered with paper for a few weeks but it rapidly became unnecessary).

My two love sleeping with me, but you'd never catch either of them under the duvet. They can't stand having it on them!

I was staying at someone's house a few years back and almost squished their tiny kitty. I sat on the bed and he was asleep under the duvet. He was so small he barely made a lump.

Cats sleeping under the covers with the humans? Doesn't that smell? I'm sure they lose hair as well.

There's hair almost everywhere else in my house... I think under the duvet is one of the few places it hasn't got to.

My cat does not smell! Much. Anyway he only sleeps under the duvet in winter. In summer he sleeps on top of me.

Because I've not called them. I've not known all week what will be happening with my mum and I can't commit to sitting in all day waiting.
