There's no telling with some animals what they might get up to!

The use of that language in the advert says more to me about the owner. I suspect it's more down to the upbringing and some concerted effort would probably solve the problem.

I once knew someone who had a dog that had been treated badly by its previous owner. It was a full-time job because the dog was so traumatized.

Yes, when I was up at Moose's a few weeks back I met a greyhound when I was out for a walk and he barked at me when he came round the corner. The owner was worried initially but I spent a few minutes, talking to her and giving the dog attention until he seemed happier. It turned out that the dog had been abused by his previous owners, including being stabbed, and now did not trust men, including her son. A neighbour of mine has a greyhound that they found. They do not know who had it before, but they think it had been a racing dog who had outlived their career and the owner had hung from a tree and abandoned. It is sickening how some people can treat animals.

I've heard those stories about guinea-pigs. Someone on a guinea-pig forum once rescued a guinea-pig which had been found in a bin. Its back was open from an untreated skin infection and it wa sso weak and starved it could hardly walk. it screamed when the lady gave it medication. But she managed to treat it and it was cheap, around 20 Pound for medication etc. and he improved in every way. The little guinea-pig has a happy home now, but I can't understand how someone could do that to it in the first place.
