I put a blanket in my dryer this morning. I was cold.

Went in a walk this evening in the cool weather. No wind so it was nice. The moon was out and was very pretty.

First snow of the season, about half an inch. The visiting preacher couldn't drive her car up to church and had to walk - she wasn't prepared for the road block in Church Lane. She missed the diversion signs (if there were any) and tried to take a different route up a steep hill instead. She eventually abandoned her car and walked the rest of the way. When she got there, she asked me if I would take the service if it ever happened again. Hah!

It's now -12°C here. The snow is very satisfyingly crunchy (a squeaky sort of crunch that you only get when it's really cold).

That's a big difference between heating in Britain and here - at least comparing centrally-heated terraced or semi-detached houses in Britain versus blocks of flats with district heating in Finland, which is what I know. Central heating traditionally goes off at night on a timer, but district heating is on continuously (you can set bedroom thermostats a bit lower, however you wish).
So houses don't get cold overnight and have to be heated up again in the mornings. Plus they are a lot better insulated.
(In South Africa, heating and insulation are unheard of.)

We had a big dump of sticky snow last night. It's prettily clinging to the trees, but there's a big branch down in the road in front of my house. The temperature is -2 The scene near my house:

I was slightly joking, and it depends on the region, but central heating with boilers or furnaces, no. We had electric heaters and radiators, and in our extension, underfloor heating, but it's only needed for a small part of the year.

Well. I just wasn’t sure or had ever thought about South Africa before. I know very little about that country.
Well. Heating aside it’s nicely cold and rainy here. We needed the rain. For December we have been warmer than normal. I so wish to have snow.

It was -15°C yesterday and -19/-20 overnight. But we have a 20° rise ongoing - it's already -4 and it's going to reach +3 tomorrow or Tuesday. It's going to be icy and slushy and horrible.

It was -19 this morning and windy, so not pleasant It's going to go up to above freezing for a while this week, but I don't think it will be enough to start a thaw. It looks like we'll probably get about 15 cm of snow on Wednesday

We are due for four days of severe winds here, all over the UK. Tonight is likely to be the worst night with disruption to rail services all over the country. Plus localised flooding from melting snow in Scotland. Tens of thousands are currently without power.

Here in Houston Texas is 62°F or 16 in Celsius. Cloudy and rainy. Although I have not been outside in a week or have not been able to is I really have not noticed the weather much.
